In service of the four districts

Distinguished alumni

Across seventy-eight years and seventy-eight graduating cohorts, Vikram Deb College (and now Vikram Dev University) has educated generations of administrators, teachers, journalists, doctors, and public-service workers who have served the four southern Odisha districts and beyond. The Office of the Registrar is constituting an Alumni Verification Committee to authenticate, with documentary evidence, every name placed on this page. The University will not publish a name without that verification.

This page is intentionally short. A directory of distinguished alumni for an institution this old is a serious archival exercise. The University chooses to leave it provisionally short rather than populate it with names that cannot be verified against admission rolls, mark-sheets, and convocation records. A complete, verified directory will replace this notice in the months ahead, in batches as each cohort's records are reconciled.

Fields of distinguished service the College is known to have produced

The institutional records, the Annual Reports of the autonomous-college era, and public press archives indicate alumni have entered the following fields of public life. Where a specific named alumnus's record can be authenticated, the entry will appear under the relevant heading with a citation:

Civil services

Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Odisha Administrative Service officers serving in the State and at the Centre.

Education and academia

Faculty in higher-education institutions across Odisha and beyond, school-system leadership, and educational researchers.

Public service in the four districts

Elected representatives, panchayat-level governance, the cooperative sector, and tribal-rights advocacy.

Journalism and Odia letters

Reporters, editors, and contributors to Odia and English print and broadcast media; poets and authors in Odia and Desiya.

Healthcare and medicine

Government and private medical-service practitioners, public-health workers, and rural-health administrators in the KBK region.

Industry and enterprise

Officers in the public-sector mineral and aluminium enterprises operating in Koraput (NALCO, OMC, MCL) and entrepreneurs across the four districts.

If you are an alumnus or alumna

The Alumni Verification Committee invites every former student of the predecessor college and of the University to register. Verified entries will appear, with the alumna/alumnus's consent, under the appropriate field of service.

The University's relationship with its alumni is mediated by the Office of the Registrar pending formal constitution of the Alumni Association under the new Statutes. The names and contact details of alumni are processed under the DPDP-aligned privacy notice; alumni may withdraw consent at any time.
