Allotment
Hostel seats are allotted by the Hostel Welfare Committee on the basis of distance, financial circumstance, and academic standing. Seats are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) under the RPwD Act, 2016, and accessible rooms with assistive infrastructure are provided on request.
Mess
Each hostel operates a residents' mess on a not-for-profit basis. Menus are decided by the Mess Committee elected by residents at the beginning of each semester. Vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and dietary-restriction options are provided.
Welfare and safety
- Wardens reside in adjoining quarters; deputy wardens conduct nightly rounds.
- Twenty-four-hour security at the campus entry.
- CCTV at common areas; never inside rooms or shared toilets, in compliance with privacy norms.
- The Anti-Ragging Committee and the Internal Complaints Committee operate independently of the hostel administration; complaints may be made directly to either.
- Health centre on campus, with the District Headquarters Hospital, Jeypore at five kilometres.
Fees
Hostel and mess fees are notified annually in the prospectus. The University does not seek profit on hostel operations; mess fees are pegged to the audited cost of provisions, fuel, and staff.
